Common Errors in English Usage — Paul Brians has spent decades cataloging the mistakes I’ve apparently been making my whole life, in a language I would have sworn I spoke. Good for ten minutes, dangerous for two hours. His list has sat at the same address for years, doing one thing well and asking nothing of anybody.

Daring Fireball — John Gruber’s been writing about Apple, design, and adjacent obsessions since 2002, and co-created Markdown along the way. He thinks carefully, gives a damn about how things look, and is funny. Which is a rarer combination than it should be.

McSweeney’s Internet Tendency — Daily short humor with deadpan titles longer than some of the pieces. It taught a lot of people, me included, that a piece of writing could be built like a joke rather than merely containing one. Still publishing after 25,000 years in internet time, still good.
